FAQ

Are the rates per person or for the entire villa?

Our rates are for the entire villa.  Villas may not be occupied by more guests than specified in the rental contract.  Rates are based on occupancy and additional fees may apply.

Does a weekly rental always start on the same day each week?

No.  In Mexico you can arrive on any day of the week as long as the villa is available.

When is High-Season, Low-Season and define Holidays?

Mexico’s “High Season” (also known as Winter Season) begins in early October and lasts until mid-April. The lower rates of ‘Low Season’ (Summer Season) take effect from mid-April until the end of September. Holidays include Easter Week, US Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Weeks.  Your villa consultant will reconfirm this upon your inquiry, as there are a few exceptions.

Is there a minimum stay?

Normally a 7-night stay is required during High Season and during Holidays.  During Low Season, the minimum is 2 nights. Serenity Rentals does accept shorter stays, especially if it is close to your vacation date.

Isn’t a villa more expensive than a hotel?

As you explore the vacation villas we represent you’ll see that many villas are often much less than prices at hotels of the same quality standard. When you factor in all the benefits and amenities of a private villa, you’ll quickly realize that villas offer a superb value. (Remember to compare rates per room/ per night).

What is your deposit and cancellation policy?

The non-refundable 50% down payment is required to confirm your reservation.  The balance plus the security deposit is due 60 days prior to arrival.

  • A security deposit of $500 USD is required when your group does not include pets, small children or if the home is very basic.
  • A security deposit of $700 or $1,000 USD is required when your group includes pets, children or if the home includes a pool or Jacuzzi.  The $1,000 USD security deposit is required for more luxurious rentals villas.

 

How many guests can we have?

Only the maximum capacity as listed on each individual listing is allowed.   If more than the agreed-upon amount of guests is discovered in a home, you will lose your damage deposit and will be asked to immediately vacate the home.  Additional guests can be added but please communicate and confirm with us before your arrival so we can accommodate your bedding needs.

Can we bring our pets?

Some of our listings are pet-friendly.  Check each listing for allowances and rules.

Are the rental rates guaranteed?

Rates are guaranteed at the moment a signed copy of the rental contract and the deposit has been received.  Rates can change if you alter your travel dates or your number of guests. Rates are subject to change as listed on the site before a signed copy of the rental contract and the deposit has been received.

Are children welcome in all the rentals?

No, not all vacation properties are appropriate for children.   Please inquire on a specific listing.  If the Villa does welcome children, we can also arrange baby-sitters 24/7.

How do I book a villa rental with you?

Please contact us via phone or email to confirm a reservation and villa availability. A 50% deposit is required to hold a reservation. Reservations are not considered firm until the deposit is received.  If this is a last minute booking, we will work with you to make sure you have your reservation and all your arrangements confirmed  before your arrival.

Does our villa rental come with maid service and a cook?

Every vacation villa is different and offers different work schedules and days.  All the villas include a maid but some include a maid that cooks and some include a maid and a cook.  Please inquire on a specific listing.

Do you offer additional services?

  • Pre-arrival food and beverage stocking.
  • Restaurant recommendation and concierge services.
  • In-Residence Spa treatments.

What are the price ranges of the villas?

The key factors in determining the price of a villa are the size, number of bedrooms, architectural design, décor, location of the villa, and the time of year you choose to travel. Our current rates are from $400 USD to $11,000 USD per week or month.  Rates for holidays are more. Check each villas page for complete details.

What is included?

Amenities and services vary from house to house and from destination to destination. Please check the individual villa description for which amenities and services are and are not included in each of the villas you are interested in.

What are some of the advantages of a villa versus a hotel?

You will have complete privacy in your vacation home rental, in your pool, and with your family and friends. There can also be a cost savings when travelling with your family or larger groups. It is comfortable to enjoy the space in a nicely designed, appointed and outfitted home rental.

Can I reserve the same villa for the same time next year if I like it?

If you would like to reserve the same vacation villa for the same time next year, we strongly encourage you to re-book that villa with us as soon as you return. The most popular luxury vacation villas are rented quickly. Your Reservations Consultant will call you upon your return to assist you in re-booking your villa.

How many guests can I bring with me?

A maximum occupancy number is stated in the villa description (depending upon number of beds).  If you arrive with additional people above the maximum occupancy allowance, it is grounds for asking you to leave the private home rental and you forfeit your rental.  If you have last-minute guests travelling with you, we will be happy to help you find a supplemental villa rental or hotel accommodations for your guests, or if possible, to find you a larger vacation villa (if we can replace your rental in your original villa rented).

Will I need to put down a security deposit on my villa rental?
